More Than a Host

Celebrating Riley as he heads off to college and thanking him for two unforgettable years at Precinct.

Tonight we say goodbye for now to our Host with the Most, Mr. Riley! Riley has been manning our our host station and washing dishes for the last 2 plus years. This is his last Saturday with us before he embarks on his college career at UWM!

I have to tell you I thought Riley thought I was a ridiculous crazy boss when he started. I mean I am! He would give me these “dad like” stares when I was grooving and cooking on the line nightly. His beginning days in the dishpit as he was soaking wet from the sprayer he would also give me these stares like I hate this job…

But you know what maybe that was all in my own head cause this kid hung in there and grew to be one of the best teenager workers I’ve ever had the pleasure employing!

We went from those days, to him coming back dancing on the line with me, making me laugh, and giving me sass like nobody’s business! The relationships that grew here with him and the rest of the staff I think will be forever friendships!

Rileys palette for food and flavors grew to new heights as well in his time spent here. This slightly picky eater will try just about anything now and eats almost anything. He still hates green beans though! But hey I’ll take the rest as a win!

But for real Riley I hope you get to read this!

I wish you the best of luck! I’m gonna miss you like crazy!! It wont be the same not having you here every weekend! I feel like a small part of me is gonna be lost in the rush going forward! You have figured out when I’m stressed out and try to get me outta my funk and i love you for that!

I’ll try not to cry at the end of shift tonight but lets be real you know I’m gonna give you hug and probably bawl my eyes out! Please come back on breaks and pick up shifts! You always have a home here!!

Cheers to you my friend on the next chapter of your life! Im glad I got to be a small part of the fabulous life you are bound to have! Always Remember the first rule in the dish-pit is “keep your mouth closed”! First rule in hosting is make the people sit where you sat them! For real though you are gonna be so missed by me and every last employee here!

You will always have a special corner of my heart! 💚
